The Ontario RAT-3 Caper 8663 is a solid survival knife and an alternative to the original Rat-3 model. The leaf-shaped blade is made from 1075 carbon steel, which is strong and easy to sharpen. The extremely sustainable powder coating on the blade protects it from the increased corrosion sensitivity of the carbon steel. That is why we recommend you keep this knife dry and possibly slightly greasy. The wonderful properties of this steel guarantee a lifetime of enjoyment. The knife is enhanced with a micarta handle The handle feels slightly coarse which is great because it is comfortable to hold and offers enough grip.
